About the Beast

I am the night. I am the darkness. I am fear. I am the one lurking in the shadows. I am the one who ate the last brownie. I am the one who put that "kick me" sign on your back in 7th grade (sorry). I am...Baguestspirit.

I am almost 37 years old, and I still love Petz. 0 fucks given. I was introduced to Petz for the first time in 1997, when I happened to see Dogz 2 in a computer software store that was going out of business. I picked up Dogz 2, and Monty Python's The Meaning of Life PC game. I still have both games. I have a lot of fond memories of those days enjoying Dogz 2, I recall having a mutt, bulldog, and chihuahua. I lost the chihuahua and bulldog, but luckily I still have the mutt, Foofur.

I remember the early days of Petz, downloading new files as P.F. Magic released them (the labrador, poodle, dalmatian, toy car, bubble maker, etc.), then visiting other people's Petz sites to download hexed files on ye olde dial up internet. I remember my very first attempt to hex a breed in Dogz 2. There wasn't much hexing info out there at the time, so I just fumbled around, changing numbers randomly. The results, needless to say, weren't pretty. I remember it being brown and bright yellow, and very wonky. No images exist of that monstrosity, thankfully. I've gotten a little better at hexing since then.

As far as I go personally, I was born and raised in California, but have lived in Tucson, Arizona for almost 20 years now. I have a dog, a labrador/pitbull mix, named Stitch. He's an old man now, but I've had him since he was a little runt of a puppy. I happen to suffer from an unusual autoimmune disorder, and have battled with constant severe pain ever since I was a young teen. I am single, not that I've ruled out marriage, it's just not currently one of my goals.

Keeping my paws busy helps keeps me out of trouble. Interests & hobbies: I'm a weather nerd, and love storms and storm photography. I took up the practice of yoga a while ago, finding it a much better fit for me than the traditional gym. I love video games, and remember playing the Intellivision, then the NES. I still have that NES, actually, it still works, as do the old game cartridges. I still pull it out from time to time and play it, it looks kind of crappy on modern HD TV sets, but it's still fun. My favorite video games include the Zelda series, Okami, Sly Cooper, Ratchet & Clank, Jack & Daxter, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Outlast, Monster Hunter, Super Mario, Alien: Isolation, and Drakan: The Ancient's Gates, to name some. As far as movies go, I have too many favorites to name here, but enjoy comedy, action, horror, mystery, and animation. I rarely watch regular TV, only occsionally watching if something good is on PBS, but otherwise just sticking with Netflix or DVD/blu rays. Arts and crafts are another hobby I enjoy, especially sculpting with polymer clay, crochet, and cross-stitch. Reading is something I've always loved, and will sometimes go on reading sprees.

Here's my little collection of my favorite things:
